Do you accept Medicaid and Medicare?
Our agency is NOT a Medicaid or Medicare provider. However, we referral older adults, individuals with disabilities, and caregivers to Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) adrc and the Alliance for Aging, Inc. funded lead agencies and OAA providers such as: United Home Care Independent Living Systems First Quality, Inc.; and MJHS PACE Program OAA service providers such as: Jewish Community Services Monroe County Social Services

Do you provide skilled nursing service?
Our agency does NOT offer skilled nursing service. We may soon offer Homemaking, Companion, and Sitter services.

Do you refer families for assistance through a private for-profit licensed Home Health Care?
Our agency does NOT make referrals to ANY privately-owned business. We only refer families in need of service to private not-for-profit tax-exempt charitable organizations.

What other services do you offer?

How do you determine who qualifies for assistance?
Federal and state guidelines and sponsor funded program mandates determine who may be eligible for assistance for a program. Who we can assist varies from program to program.

Is S.T.E.P.S. a general contractor?
S.T.E.P.S. in the Right Direction, Inc. (S.T.E.P.S.) is a qualified, the Florida Department of Professional Regulations licensed, and insured by as State General Contractor. S.T.E.P.S. is insured, and as such can handle most Housing Improvement, Environmental Modification, disaster home repair projects. S.T.E.P.S. is one of just a handful of organizations in south Florida to offer contractor services utilizing pool of qualified general contractors, roofers, pest control companies, home cleaning and carpeting businesses. Do you offer loan or cash assistance?
Unfortunately, we do not offer loan or any cash assistance. S.T.E.P.S. provide charitable educational services and assistance. Apart from listed program, we conduct community-wide outreach campaigns, help families access certain public assistance such as Florida KidCare Assistance, Medicaid, Food Stamps, Prescription Drug Assistance among others. We even help businesses create business plan and help formulate disaster mitigation strategies. For more information email:
